OUR
HISTORY
UK
Event Safety has built up it’s field of expertise over the last twenty
seven years. Originally the organisation started by providing
fire cover for a local drag racing club based
near to York.
The
first fire vehicle used by UK Event Safety was a Volkswagen beach buggy, which although
sounding splendid, did little else, it was sparsely equipped with a handful of fire
extinguishers. We then progressed to our
first full blown fire engine, a 1953 Bedford water tender!
Out
with the old and in with the newer, this time a 1973 Dennis
Hampshire Fire Brigade.
The
Little Red Wagon’ as she was affectionately known once again served
us well up until 1999 when she was semi retired, replaced by our current
machine a Dennis DS water / rescue tender.

'Little Red Wagon' got
it's name from one of the most spectacular show vehicles ever. As our roots
originally lay in drag racing, it seems appropriate that the fire engine's name should
come from that sport. Little Red Wagon was a Dodge
pick up truck as seen in the picture
In 2005
we made the decision to streamline our organisation and focus fully on Event
Health & Safety support and the fire trucks were sold on.
UK Event Safety staff accept responsibility for all of the
Health and Safety duties (risk assessments, action plans, operational documents etc),
before and during your event.
